Located on The Strand at Hermosa Beach, CA, a low-height 17 ft. long water wall faces the ocean, casting reflections of the beachfront sunsets along the textured water patterns. Water flows down both sides of the water wall, with an 8 ft. long linear fire feature facing the main indoor living space on the opposite side of the water wall. The water wall acts to protect the fire from the ocean breeze, yet provides a warm ambiance to the outdoor space with an unrestricted view of the ocean from the home.
Two textured basalt water walls, one tall & one short, are interconnected through a pond at the entryway of the contemporary home, Cascading water falls from both features into a pool of water wrapping around the entry court beneath a floating step to the entrance, while an upper pool is level with the front door.
