Sean So, principal of Water Studio, has been designing contemporary water and fire features for over 30 years. His passion and dedication have earned recognition from a distinguished roster of clients worldwide. After earning a degree in Fine Art and Industrial Design, Sean began his career studying and collaborating with the late, renowned artist Eric Orr, a pioneering figure in the California Light and Space movement.
Driven by a vision to integrate art, design, and technology, Sean has guided the evolution of Water Studio’s signature creations. With each project, he seeks to refine every aspect of the design and fabrication process, ensuring that each water feature embodies innovation, precision, and aesthetic excellence. Under his direction, Water Studio has completed landmark projects including large-scale water walls, integrated fire-and-water features, and modular infinity-edged pools.
Sean’s work spans high-profile commercial and residential projects, as well as public art installations such as the Disney Cancer Center in Burbank, California, the Presbyterian Hospital in Whittier, California, and Linear Cascade for Culver City, California.
