Richardson Regional

Integrated into the existing architecture of a hospital lobby, this recessed water wall serves as a tranquil backdrop to the patient waiting area. The water wall stands 5 ft. wide and 18 ft. tall, encouraging viewers to look upward and enjoy the spaciousness and height of the room. Copper with bronze patina blends well with the surrounding bricks and woodwork, and also offers a non-uniform color palette for the tree, similar to the different hues you would see on leaves in nature. Due to the complexity of the tree, the background and water texture are kept simple. The lighting and granite basin, which reflect the tree and letters from above, are also clean and simple to keep the feature elegant and balanced. Overall, this understated water wall enhances the lobby and successfully brings together the unique architectural and design elements of the space.
