The water feature at Joni and Friends International Disability Center consists of a reflecting pool that surrounds a floating chapel. The surface of the pool is dark and reflective. It is perfectly still without any turbulence or movement.

Four skylights from above illuminate four squares on the water equally spaced apart to suggest an outline of a cross. Water gently falls down one side of the pool facing the reception area to create an infinity-edge water wall with gentle cascading water effect. Series of cove lights illuminate the area underneath the chapel to enhance the floating effect.

Gentle sound of falling water can be heard as visitors approach the floating chapel on water. The combination of light, reflectivity, and sound of water create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
